Serve on a Board or Commission

The City of Farmington has several boards and commissions that make recommendations to the city council.  The city is accepting applications for the following boards and commissions:

Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission
2 three-year terms 2/1/22 - 1/31/25
Meets the second Wednesday (monthly) 7:00 p.m.

Planning Commission
3 two-year terms 2/1/22 - 1/31/24
Meets the second Tuesday (monthly) 7:00 p.m.

Rambling River Center Advisory Board
2 three-year terms 2/1/22 - 1/31/25
Meets the second Monday (monthly) 9:30 a.m.

Water Board
1 three-year term 2/1/22 - 1/31/25
Meets the fourth Monday (monthly) 5:00 p.m.

Application Process:
December 6 - Applications Due by 4:00 p.m.

December 7 & 8 - Department Head Review of Applications
December 13 - City Council Interviews with Finalists
December 15 - Background Checks Due
January 18 - Appointments by City Council
February 1 - Terms Start

In order to serve, you must be 18 years old, a U.S. citizen, a resident of Farmington and pass a background check. Commission members are paid annually $30 per meeting attended and should make meeting attendance a priority.
