Become a Firefighter

The Farmington Fire Department recruits paid on call firefighters every spring and applications are accepted in February and March. We hold recruitment open houses during this time.
These open houses will start with a presentation about the department and the job. Potential candidates will have an opportunity to meet with current firefighters to have a better understanding of the time commitment. We encourage bringing a spouse as the time commitment of being a paid-on-call firefighter effects the whole family. If you plan on attending, please show up at or before the scheduled start time as the presentation will begin promptly at the beginning. You do not need to attend the open houses to apply for the positions all though it is recommended. There is one open house geared towards female applicants where we will have several female firefighters on hand.
