Skatepark Funding
The City of Farmington has been awarded a Fiscal Year 2026 Outdoor Recreation Grant in the amount of $350,000 for the development of a new skatepark. This grant is administered by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and federally funded through the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF). The Outdoor Recreation Grant requires a one-to-one match, and the city will provide $350,000 in matching funds from Liquor Operations Community Project funds to support the project.
Design & Construction
The city has selected Spohn Ranch, Inc, a nationally recognized skatepark design and construction firm, to design and build the new facility at Feely Fields in Rambling River Park, 21250 Denmark Ave.
Design Process
Community members are invited to attend a Design Workshop on Monday, Dec. 8 from 6 to 8 pm at the Rambling River Center, 325 Oak St. This workshop is open to everyone and provides an opportunity to learn more about the project and share ideas for the skatepark design.
Can’t attend in person? A design survey will be available on the city’s website beginning Monday, Nov. 17 through Monday, Dec. 22 to gather additional community input.
The skatepark design process will include three meetings, with the second meeting scheduled for mid-January 2026 (in person) and the final meeting planned for late February 2026 (virtual). Construction will begin in 2026, with completion expected by September 2026.
