City of Farmington Mourns the Loss of Police Officer Pete Zajac
The City of Farmington is deeply saddened to share the passing of Police Officer and School Resource Officer Pete Zajac, who took his life late last night. Our hearts are heavy as we grieve this profound loss within our Police Department and our community.
We extend our deepest condolences to Officer Zajac’s family, friends, and colleagues during this incredibly difficult time. The City, Police Department, and the Farmington School District are providing support and resources to staff and students as we come together to navigate this tragedy.
To allow members of the Farmington Police Department the space and time to grieve, law enforcement coverage for the City of Farmington will be temporarily supported by surrounding law enforcement agencies. We are grateful for their partnership and assistance as our department heals.
We ask the community to keep Officer Zajac’s loved ones and our entire City in their thoughts and prayers.
