The Metropolitan Mosquito Control District (MMCD) provides a tire recycling program to help eliminate mosquito breeding habitats that can develop in tires that are not managed correctly.
MMCD is allowing residents to drop-off tires for free recycling at a designated event. The drop-off event for Dakota County residents is Wednesday, Sept. 10. Residents will be able to drop-off up to 20 tires per household (tires must be off rims and standard car or light truck sized).
