Want to take an active role in keeping our local waterways clean? Adopt a stormwater pond!
Our Adopt-A-Pond program encourages city residents, community groups, and businesses to get outside, connect with the environment, and protect our natural resources.
To participate:
- Adopt an available pond for a two-year commitment. Fill out an Adopt-A-Pond registration packet (PDF). and submit via email to McKenna Anderson or stop by city hall to fill out or submit the packet in person.
- At least three times per year, clean up debris, garbage, dirt/sediment, or weeds from the pond. Get your family, friends, neighbors, or co-workers together and make an event out of it!
The city will provide trash bags and trash pickup for your pond cleanups upon request.
The city will also install a sign at the pond thanking you and/or your group for adopting the pond.
Please contact McKenna Anderson at 651-280-6703 or email McKenna Anderson if you have a pond in mind that you would like to adopt or if you would like help in selecting one that is available.
