Adopt-A-Pond

Want to take an active role in keeping our local waterways clean? Adopt a stormwater pond!

Our Adopt-A-Pond program encourages city residents, community groups, and businesses to get outside, connect with the environment, and protect our natural resources.

To participate:

  1. Adopt an available pond for a two-year commitment. Fill out an Adopt-A-Pond registration packet (PDF). and submit via email to McKenna Anderson or stop by city hall to fill out or submit the packet in person.
  2. At least three times per year, clean up debris, garbage, dirt/sediment, or weeds from the pond. Get your family, friends, neighbors, or co-workers together and make an event out of it!

The city will provide trash bags and trash pickup for your pond cleanups upon request.

The city will also install a sign at the pond thanking you and/or your group for adopting the pond.

Please contact McKenna Anderson at 651-280-6703 or email McKenna Anderson if you have a pond in mind that you would like to adopt or if you would like help in selecting one that is available.
