Request Police Reports (Data Requests)
Requests may take up to 10 business days to process.
To submit your request, you can:
- Submit Online Records Request
- Mail your request to Farmington Police Department Attn: Records Request 19500 Municipal Drive, Farmington, MN 55024
- Drop off your request in person during Farmington Police Department lobby hours
Permit to Purchase Handguns
The Minnesota Uniform Firearm Permit to Purchase/Transfer a handgun application is available at the Police Department and can also be downloaded below. Keep in mind that each applicant must turn in their application and produce their driver's license showing a valid City of Farmington address. Please make sure that you live within the city and don't simply have a Farmington mailing address before applying. Applications take up to a week to process and there is no charge for a permit to purchase.

The department accepts applications with a copy of your driver's license in the drop box located in the vestibule at the Farmington Police Department, 19500 Municipal Dr.
Ride-along Request
Ride-alongs are a great chance to see what it is like to be a police officer in the City of Farmington. Ride-alongs typically last 4 hours.
Required:
- Certification of Information
- Responsibility, Restrictions and Procedures for Riders must be read and signed.
- Level One Security Awareness Training must be completed and signed.
Please be patient while awaiting a scheduled date and time. The Farmington Police Department reserves the right to deny a ride-along request for any reason.
