The Administrative Division handles the day-to-day operations of the department. It consists of the Chief of Police, Administrative Captain, and three civilian personnel.
The Investigations Division is made up of one Sergeant and four detectives. Two of those detectives are assigned to standard investigations, while another is assigned to the Dakota County Drug Task Force and the last is a School Resource Officer.
The Patrol Division is the largest and most visible component of the Farmington Police Department. Patrol is staffed by four Patrol Sergeants and 13 Patrol Officers.
