CDA Rental Assistance ProgramHousing Choice Voucher Rental Assistance Program Waiting List Opening 

The Dakota County Community Development Agency (CDA) will be opening its waiting list for the Housing Choice Voucher (aka Section 8) Program beginning at 12 p.m. (noon) on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 through 12 p.m. (noon) on Thursday, July 19, 2018. The Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is opening for the first time since 2015.

Applications will be accepted online only at Applicants may apply using any device with internet access including computers, tablets, smart phones, computers available at public libraries, or computers available at the CDA office between 8 a.m. ‐ 4 p.m., located at 1228 Town Centre Drive, Eagan, MN 55123.

All applications received during this time period will be included in a random drawing for selection for the waiting list. The CDA will randomly select 1,500 applicants for the Housing Choice Voucher waiting list. Ninety five (95) percent of applicants selected will meet Dakota County preference requirements (live, work or attend school full‐time in Dakota County) and five (5) percent will be non‐preference applicants.

Important Notes
- There is no advantage to applying on the first day. All applications completed by 12 p.m. (noon) on Thursday, June 19, 2018 will be included in the random drawing for waiting list selection.
- Applicants will need to have the social security number and date of birth for the head/co‐head of household to complete the application.
- The online application can be translated into different languages.
- Households currently on other CDA housing waiting lists must apply separately for the Housing Choice Voucher Program.
- Applicants requesting a reasonable accommodation must do so in writing to the CDA no later than 4 p.m. on Friday, July 13, 2018.
