There are many construction projects in Farmington and surrounding our community. Stay up to date on the projects and stay ahead of the traffic!

Hwy 50 & Akin Road - Northern Natural Gas is performing maintenance on its gas lines that are located under city property at the intersection of Hwy 50 and Akin Road. They will be working at the site until late summer - Please be respectful of the workers and slow down while passing. 

Dakota County Pilot Knob Road Overlay - Dakota County will be doing mill and overlay work on Pilot Knob Road between 170th Street and 190th Street. Work in Farmington will include mil & overlay, pedestrian curb ramp revisions, and utility repairs. More information regarding this project may be found on Dakota County's website. The city will keep the Engineering Projects page current with updates from Dakota County as well. 

MnDOT Hwy 50 Mill & Overlay - MnDOT will be doing a mill and overlay project on Highway 50 from Highway 3 in Farmington to Highway 52 in Hampton. The project will consist of resurfacing, sign replacements, ADA upgrades, and other miscellaneous improvements.  This project was originally scheduled for construction in 2017, however, due to a funding approval delay from the state legislature, the project was delayed.  More information regarding the project may be found on the MnDOT website. The city will keep the Engineering Projects page current with updates from MnDOT as well. 

Regetta Housing Development - Developers are building public utilities and roads for a new 61-plot single family home development. During construction, there may be disruptions to traffic on Flagstaff.

  • Update June 28: Flagstaff remains closed north of County Road (CSAH) 50 for utility work; the posted detour will be CSAH 50 to Cedar Avenue (CSAH 23) to 200th Street (CR 64). Paving and reopening of Flagstaff is anticipated by Monday, July 2.
